![]() What Lucas Arts really should have done was include a first-person view mode so gamers could at least analyze their surroundings. Hopping from platform to platform, however, can be a little tedious, especially since judging distances with the game's poorly-chosen camera angle isn't always the simplest task to overcome. Sometimes moving around with the analog joystick can feel a little awkward, but jumping in the air and using your weapon shouldn't instigate any confusion. The controls in TPM are about as straightforward as they get for an action game, no matter whether you're slashing through an army of enemies or dashing off to find the ever-annoying Jar Jar Binks. When you've got an endless horde of armed storm troopers breathing down your neck, it's nice to know that you can save your game and boot it up again in case you just happen to kick the can. Sometimes the difficulty of the stages can be downright annoying, which makes being able to save your game at any place anywhere a true godsend. As either one of several characters, including Qui-Gon, Amidala, and more, you berserk through numerous enemy-filled stages - and you'd better pray to whatever God you may worship, because you'll need all the luck you can get to make it through unscathed. The game itself follows the movie down to a tee in every level you play, and depending on whether or not you liked the cinematic experience of Episode One, this may make things less enjoyable for you in whole. Gameplay The Phantom Menace, the interactive version, is something that either you're going to enjoy or raise an eyebrow at. The Phantom Menace, the Jedi-toting adventure based on the notorious box-office hit of the same name, has finally arrived to meet fans' needs - but like the movie, it may leave some people feeling disappointed. There are few things in this world on which the Star Wars name hasn't been branded, and this particular PS game isn't one of them. If you live in the United States, there's no possible way that you haven't seen a victim of Star Wars Fever, let alone become one yourself. ![]() It's effected people, ranging from kids to adults, all around you like a viral infection. ![]()
